4.) Our Pricing Policy;

Shorelines strives to provide value for money for quality products. Although we try to remain competitive we also believe it unethical to under-cut our competitors. We also do not believe in inflating prices to create an artificial sale, we pride ourselves on our high level of integrity. We aim to offer an efficient and secure service and largely due to our long-standing high street presence, we have a strong and frequent loyalty base and receive a large amount of repeat business.

In such an open market place it is of course inevitable that other on-line retailers will stock the same items as us for either more or less, all we can say is that all our items are priced at the standard recommended retail prices set by our suppliers.

We will review our prices as and when our costs are reviewed.

All prices shown on our site are inclusive of VAT at 20%, for postage and packing, please see our notes on shipping.

5.) Placing your Order;

Before completing your order and checking out of our on-line checkout process, you will be given the opportunity to check your order and correct any errors. Once your order has been placed we will e-mail you an order acknowledgement.

We accept your order upon dispatch of goods (unless we notify you that we have not accepted or have cancelled your order), you will at this stage receive an e-mail confirmation of dispatch. We will only not accept an order if the goods are out of stock, we are unable to process payment or if you do not meet any eligibility criteria as specified by our terms and conditions.

6.) Security;

When collecting your information we use secure server software which encrypts all the information you input before it is sent to us. This encryption technology virtually eliminates fraud on the internet.

7.) Privacy;

We comply in full to the Data Protection Act 1998.

The information we hold about you; If you make a purchase from our website, we will have your e-mail address, phone number, address, credit card details and order history information (by providing us with this information you consent to us collecting, processing and using this information). If you provide us with an additional delivery address, we will also have the third party’s name and address. We monitor general site traffic patterns to our website but do not track individual user pathways. All information held is for delivery and contact purposes, you may opt out of our newsletter and special offer updates at any stage.
Cookies; These are tiny amounts of data which are sent to your web browser via a webserver, they cause no harm to your machine and can be viewed on your temporary internet files folder. The purpose of the cookies is for us to keep track of the items in your basket, aid navigation around the site and they help us to track browsing behaviour.
If you experience any problems when ordering items on our site this may be in relation to your security settings in your web browser, if these are set to high then you will have disabled cookies. To use the site you will need to set the security to medium (safe browsing but still functional). Alternatively you can add www.shorelinesofcowes.co.uk to your list of trusted sites.

What we do with your information; The information we have is kept by us strictly for our own use, we never exchange, sell or distribute the details you have entrusted to us to any other company for marketing / selling purposes.

Who else sees your information; The only other parties we would pass on your information to will be our shipping providers (for example Royal Mail) for dispatch and delivery and in order to conduct anti fraud checks, this can involve credit reference agencies and fraud prevention agencies.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and any personal information we collect will be used in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and other applicable laws.
When collecting your information we use secure server software which encrypts all the information you input before it is sent to us.

We only collect information about individuals where it is specifically and knowingly provided at the time of registration and ordering, we then carry out security checks to protect against fraudulent transactions and we can save your payment card details and delivery address for future use.

We will use your information to contact you regarding our goods and services, for example special offers and promotions. Should you wish to change your preferences at any time, please contact us.

We will need to share the information we have for you with certain third parties, for example postal service providers, security and fraud agencies and credit card service providers. These third parties have access to your information in order to perform their transactions but may not use the information for any other purpose.

Please note that we do not pass your information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Cookies.
You do not have to provide us with any of the information requested, however your computer will need to accept cookies to enable you to place orders with us.
Cookies are small amounts of data sent to your web browser by a webserver. They cannot harm your machine in any way as they are small textfiles with simple information in them. You can see them as small textfiles inside your ‘Temporary Internet Files’ folder in Windows. Our cookies keep track of the items in your shopping basket and act as place markers when you move around the site. We also use software to track general browsing behaviour on our website. This means that we can build up a picture of the most popular areas and paths through the site and any problem areas, though we don’t use it on a personal level to track individuals and their behaviour.

You may experience problems with our site when you try to buy items, these are usually to do with how you have set up your security settings in your web browser.

If you have set your Security Settings in Internet Explorer to ‘high’ you have disabled cookies. Our site uses cookies to provide some features such as the Shopping Cart and My Account. To use the site you will need to set the security level for the internet to Medium (under Tools/Internet Options). This is for “Safe browsing but still functional”. Alternatively you can add www.shorelinesofcowes.co.uk to your list of trusted sites. Should you wish to turn off cookies in your browser, your browser’s help menu should tell you how to do this, but this will, of course, affect some of the features of our site and therefore your shopping experience.

8.) Cancellation policy;

If you wish to cancel a recently placed order before it has been dispatched, call us on 01983 298341 or e-mail us at martha@shorelinesofcowes.co.uk to inform us of your cancellation. We will then cancel the dispatch and refund you accordingly.

9.) Returns / refunds policy;

We are happy for you to return any item to us for exchange or refund, as long as the item is in it’s original condition (fully ‘re-saleable’, with original packaging etc.) and is returned within 14 days of purchase.

For the Christmas period, items bought throughout November and December can be returned up until and inclusive of the 14th January.
All items should be returned to;
Shorelines of Cowes
109 High Street
Cowes
Isle of Wight
PO31 7AT

The relevant returns authorisation number must be included, this will be supplied when you contact us initially to pre-agree the return. Call us on 01983 298341, or e-mail us at martha@shorelinesofcowes.co.uk and we will allocate your authorisation code, items returned without this will not be processed and no refund will be given.
Please click here for our printable returns form.

Please allow seven working days for all returns, refunds and exchanges to be fully processed, original payment will be refunded upon our receipt and inspection of the item (s) to be refunded.

If an item arrives to you in a damaged condition we will be happy to reimburse your postal costs, however we will not be able to do this for ‘change of heart’ refunds, the delivery cost on such items is your responsibility.

Please note that we carefully check all items before postage, therefore no items will be dispatched in a faulty state, we will therefore take up the problem with the carrier.

Under no circumstances will we accept the loss or damage in transit of any items returned to us, for this reason we recommend that you use a recorded delivery service. If any returned item does arrive to us in a poor condition and we are unable to issue a refund, please note that if you wish for the item to be returned to you, you will incur the further postal charges.
Any item which is sticky, dirty, dusty, muddy, grass-stained or any other stained, scratched, torn etc. will not be refunded, we don’t send products in such a condition and therefore do not accept them.

All items for return and refund must be accompanied with proof of purchase (we will also have a record of this ourselves) and only the original purchaser will be refunded (refunds will be made to the same method of payment used for the purchase), therefore anyone who has been bought a gift from our site will not be able to arrange a return themselves.

Items sold at a sale or discounted price will not be refundable, all sales in this case are final.

This returns policy does not affect your statutory rights.
